Born to a Land of Heroes
We were Born to a Land of Heroes
Carved in Stone & Forged in Bronze.
Who bore the cost of Freedom
and without question carried on.
We’re descendants of “The 300”
The children of “The Alamo”
The prodigy of “Iwo Jima”
Foretold by “Valley Forge”
If the Truth be purged from classrooms
to return the harness to our backs.
Know these Tyrants will ever fail
for We’re the Patriots that they lack.
Now my country is racked with fear
and the jackals gather round.
Still I swear by all that’s holy
To bear my share ‘fore I’m cut down.
A WW-II Marine once told me
some battles, they just must be.
Lest you hang your head in heaven
past every Soldier that you meet.
His Truth is given witness
on memorials round the globe.
The price they paid for Freedom
was all that they had owned.
No One’s death is trivial
but death is not defeat.
Our enemies mustn’t see us blink
Lest be tried with throes replete.
Our Children down the Eons
Will know our heroic acts.
That “Live Free or Die” were not just Words in Stone
………….. But that promise, We paid back!
